Mr. Charles Jett was born July 21, 1927 to the union of Charlie and Conner Jett. Charles’ parents, Sisters Marie Jett and Beatrice Jackson, both wives Ruby (Baker) Jett and Ethal Mae(Gills)Jett and daughters; Ingrid Johnson, Nada Bing, and Lorna Thomas all proceeded him in death.
Charles graduated from Washington Tech of Saint Louis Public School and was immediately drafted into US Army. Charles received honorable discharge on April 8, 1947 at Camp Beale California. Charles worked in Pacific Missouri for 10 years and during his time there he became the President of the Local Union. Also working for Scullins Steel and Anheuser Bush before retiring from Midwest Fabrication located in Pacific Missouri as a forklift driver. Charles retired at an early age but started his own trucking business hauling for several companies and venues. He was blessed to live the remainder of his life where he could enjoy spending time gathering with his family and friends. He was always there to lend a helping hand before his health began to fail. Charles showed his family how to enjoy the simple things in life and what a deck of cards, a pool table, a dog or two and blues could do. Playing cards, listening to blues, creating a tune on his guitar, and a smooth two step was one of his many pleasure’s in life.
While listen to his music, he could often be found preaching the gospel. His love for the Lord was unwavering. When he became weak, he proceeded until the Lord relieved him of his suffering and called him home. He demonstrated the meaning of a true believer and praised the Lord in the most difficult times in his life.
Charles Jett Jr. was called home to his final resting place on March 5, 2025 at Jefferson Barracks. He leaves to morn his passing and Cherish his memory to his children: Angela (Marvin) Sanders, Norda Jett, Ruby Gladney, Jennifer Williams, Charles (Chuck) Jett, Ollie (Michelle) (Atlanta GA), Sisters Clara M. Davis, Connie (Eugene) Franklin, Sisters in Laws Eartha Kelly and Marion Baker and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Charles also known as Mr. Jett and was much loved by his Family!
