On August 28, 1932, Clara Elizabeth English Cunigan was born to the union of London English and Lula Mae Ingram. She was one of nine siblings. She was born and raised in Winona, Mississippi. She moved to St. Louis, Missouri in her teenage years.

At an early age she confessed a love for Christ. Clara and Roosevelt were united in holy matrimony on May 31, 1952. To that union four children were born, Deborah, Herbert, Jerry, and Aaron.

Clara became a member of Corinthian Baptist Church. During that time, she worked in various capacities, Usher Board, Deaconess, and on the Mother’s Board.

Clara was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Her door was always open and she was always willing to help anyone in need. While she may not have completed her own education, she was always encouraging others to continue their education and to pursue their goals. She was employed with Schuch Catering and later retired from Keene Manufacturing Corporation. Her husband Rev. Roosevelt Cunigan preceded her in death on December 5, 2020.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Children: Deborah, Herbert (Ina), Jerry (Carla), Aaron (Carmen), Grandchildren: Tiffany Brown, Delores, Derick (Jenelle), Cedric, Deanna, Brittany Great Grandchildren: Jayden Hudson, Gabriel Cunigan, Norah Cunigan Goddaughter: Tammy Woodson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family friends, and a loving church family.
