Supportive Sister/Daughter:

Spiritually, a daughter is seen as the recipient of divine provision and protection, a blessing from God.

The Bible emphasizes the love between Brothers and Sisters. It encourages a genuine, affectionate, and supportive relationship, rooted in God’s love. ” Grimes siblings 4-ever”

Awesome Aunt:

She was Auntie Corrine to many nieces and nephews whom she loved with all her heart. At times she became their “Mama”, even when they didn’t ask. That’s when she became Mama CoCo. She was there to help them when needed, just as if they were her own. Their love and mutual respect was unconditional.

Good-Hearted Godmother

Over the years, there were many children that Corrine became attached to. She called them her play-child, godchild, or whatever title she would give them.

Her “Fabulous Five”, LaShaunda, LaTonya, LaChelle, Donald “DJ”, and Jeremiah, were very dear to her. She helped nurture each one of them as they navigated through life. She was an integral part of their lives, some of them from the day of their birth. She always made sure they had what they needed, and sometimes what they wanted. They too, had a loving mutual respect for each other. Through their lineage, she became Great Godmother to five, and Great-Great Godmother to two.

Faithful Friend

Like David and Johnathan, Corrine had a deep bonding relationship with a special friend, her BFF, Willie Jean. A friendship that started at the age of 8 and spanned 62 years. It was a friendship built on love, loyalty, protection, trust, and faith,

Caring-Charitable Christian (Her most important attribute)

Not a lot of historic things happened in St. Louis in 1954, until a bouncy, thick haired baby girl named Corrine made her debut.

Corrine’s walk with God began very early in her life. Her parents laid a spiritual foundation that sustained her throughout her life. She depended and relied on her faith to get her through many storms. Whenever she would make it through a storm, she would simply say, “thank you Lord, another blessing”. The songs “Another Blessing” and “Thank You Lord, for all you’ve done for me” became her go to songs.

When she reached Three Score and Ten, she yelled “Thank you Lord, Another Blessing”.

Corrine didn’t grow up financially rich. She enjoyed being spiritually rich.

Her younger adult years took her over many mountains and through many valleys, where she encountered numerous people needing help. Her “Charitable Christian” attribute would often kick in to help. To a lot of them Corrine was an answered blessing. She didn’t think twice about helping someone in need. If a child was involved, Uh Oh! Another godchild!

Corrine’s employment with Boeing, aka McDonnell Douglas, spanned many years. She earned the respect of many co-workers and management because of the exemplary work she did.

All these attributes/virtues are the foundation of our dear Corrine.

There are so many wonderful things that can be said about her. We all know she tried to be everybody’s Mama, but, that was Corrine. Her words were colorful at times, but her heart was in the right place.

As the sun began to set on Corrine’s earthly life, God whispered those special words in her ear, “Come to me, my good and faithful servant”.

She accepted the invite to have a seat at the welcome table.
