With deep sorrow and abundant love, we announce the passing of DaKishea Reese-Ezell, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. Born on July 9, 1976, in Saint Louis, Missouri, DaKishea was a radiant soul whose kindness, strength, and vibrant spirit touched everyone she met.
She was the heart of her family—a gracious, selfless woman known for her unwavering love, boundless creativity, and natural gift for making others feel cared for.
A graduate of culinary school, DaKishea shared her love through cooking. She worked for many years with the Riverview Gardens culinary team, served as a dedicated home healthcare worker, and thrived in factory work, where she made lasting friendships. Eventually, she followed her entrepreneurial dream by founding Kishea’s Kitchen, bringing joy and comfort through food to countless loved ones.
DaKishea was a devoted believer and a member of both Midwestern Baptist Church and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Her faith was the foundation of her strength and compassion.
She is lovingly remembered by her parents, Reneisa Dooley and Derrick Reese, step-mother, Danita Reese; her husband, Marcus Ezell Sr.; her children, Marcus Ezell Jr. and Shyanne Ezell; her siblings, Meghan Hunt, Destiny Reese, and Darrius Reese; and her grandchildren, Marley Ezell and Autumn Ezell. Also left to cherish her memory are a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless family and friends.
She was the joyful force behind every gathering—known for her boisterous laugh, karaoke nights, and warm hospitality. Her legacy will live on through every life she touched.
