Sister Flora Mae Grimm was born on March 29, 1936, to Walter and Maggie Grimm in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was the tenth child of thirteen children.
She received her education in the St. Louis Public School system and graduated from Vashon High School. With a passion for beauty and service, she pursued cosmetology and received her license from Gladys Cosmetology school. She proudly became a Class A Hairdresser and Manicurist.
Flora was united in holy matrimony to Frank Harvey, and to this union, eight children were born: Frank Jr. (Bobbie Olivia), Roderick, Adrian, Derrell (Nikki), Sylvia, Althea, Rosetta, and Sheree. She was preceded in death by her sons Roderick and Adrian.
At an early age, Flora confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior. She became a faithful member of Calvary MB Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Ronald C. Bridewell, later serving under Rev. Dr. Wilbert H. Goatley, Jr..
Flora was a dedicated servant leader with a heart for ministry. She served faithfully as Usher Captain No. 2 at Calvary Church and President of the Usher Board and Health Unit for the Antioch District, generously giving her time and energy in service to others. In addition to these roles, she was an active member of the choir and a passionate fundraiser. Her commitment to the church was evident in every aspect of her life.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her beloved children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.
Flora's life will be forever remembered in our hearts.
