Freddie Louis McCain was born on October 25, 1942, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Aaron McCain Jr. and Bertha McCain, who preceded him in death, along with his siblings Katherine, Verda-Mae, Credemptia, Angelina, Essie Lane (EL), and Ethel Jean.
Freddie was a man of resilience and determination. Traveling from state to state to make his mark in this world, Saint Louis, Missouri, became his final stomping ground. He dedicated many years to working for various housing authorities before venturing into entrepreneurship and establishing his own lawn care business. His hard work and dedication were evident in everything he did.
Beyond his career, Freddie had a deep love for the outdoors. He found joy in hunting, fishing, and listening to the blues—especially when he could join in on the entertainment. His sense of humor was unmatched, always ready with a joke that could bring a smile to anyone’s face.
Family was important to him. He was a proud father to his children: Anie Sloan (Charlie Sloan), Odessa McCain Robinson (Vennus Robinson), Tawanda McCain, Zechariah McCain, Cassandra McCain, and Daniel Mosley (son-in-love), as well as Georgia Beard (daughter-in-love). He is also survived by his siblings Odessa Wilis, Thurlmon McCain, and Lesley Pool. He leaves behind his wonderful grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, as well as many other family members and friends to cherish his memory.
Freddie lived life on his own terms—full of laughter, music, and love for his family. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.
