IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Georgia
White
October 7, 1932 – January 6, 2026
Georgia Elizabeth Robnett White was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on October 7, 1932 and peacefully left this earth on January 6, 2026. Her loving husband Alvin, mother Roberta Van Buran, stepfather Martin Van Buran, twin brothers Eddrick (Eddie) and Freddrick and her father Fred Robnett preceded her in death, as well as ten uncles and two aunts.
When she was younger, she enjoyed going to the movies and theaters with her brother Eddie. Georgia confessed her faith in God at an early age and attended Antioch Baptist Church for decades.
Georgia was a graduate of Sumner High School class of 1951 and received higher education at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education. She earned her teaching certificate and taught kindergarten so she could mold her student’s minds early at Hempstead Elementary in the Saint Louis Public School system for over 40 years. She touched so many lives that it seemed no matter where Georgia went in Saint Louis, there was always a former student wishing her well.
Georgia married Alvin White on August 19, 1972. During their 35 years of wedded bliss, they enjoyed going to church, traveling, dancing, movies, and socializing with friends.
Upon her retirement from teaching, she was able to focus her time on being a devoted wife, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and The Birthday Club, just to name a few. Georgia was very generous with her time. She loved driving friends to events and gatherings. Georgia dedicated one day of the week to visit friends in nursing facilities.
Georgia was an avid traveler, and many times was with her friend Ruth Simmons. Some of Georgia’s destinations were London, England, Paris, France, Greece, Italy, Hawaiian Islands, Alaska, South Africa, Spain, Abu Dubai, Las Vegas, North Carolina to attend the National Black Theater Festival, and numerous National Delta Sigma Theta conventions all over the United States. She also enjoyed traveling to many casinos across the country.
She is survived by Sanette White in Saint Louis, Missouri and Micheal White in Baltimore, Maryland; first cousins Dwyla Walker-Akpore (Kwesi); Latanya Tunstall Robinson (Rodney – deceased), Condonita Tunstall, and Clarence Pollard (also known as Chip) in Saint Louis; Steven Tunstall in Las Vegas, Nevada; Clarita Pollard in Los Angeles, California; Clarence T. Pollard (also known as C.T.P.) in New York and her honorary grandchildren Rayna, Victora, Marianna and Bryson in Kileen, Texas.
