Henry Pendelton peacefully passed away on July 29, 2026 at the age of 80. Henry was born on August 20,1945 to the late Beatrice L. Pendelton (Graves) and Willie Pendelton Sr. He was raised by the late John E. Graves Sr., also his father.

He was the third son of nine siblings. He is predeceased by his wife, Patricia Pendelton; daughter, Patricia Marie Pendelton; brothers, Willie & Louis Pendelton; sisters, Diane Graves & Margie Lawson; and grandson, Christopher Jackson.

Henry was known for his mild-mannered, quiet nature, giving spirit and a witty sense of humor. Born in the bustling city of Chicago, Illinois, he moved to Columbia, Missouri, then to Saint Louis where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep love for his family. He grew up with a love for cars and carried that passion throughout his life. He worked as a mechanic, where dedication and skill left a lasting remark. He also worked in the hotel industry. He was an employee of the Ritz Carlton hotel. He attended church at the Stranger Home Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Paster Russell Hammond.

His legacy will live on in the kindness he showed, the values he upheld and the lives he enriched. He never called people by their names. He would refer to his sisters as “sis”, his brothers as “brother” and everyone else as, “Hey, Baby”. He was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and friend. His favorite role was that of a grandfather. He treasured his time with his grandkids and loved being their “Pa-Pa”.

He is survived by (4) sons, Gerald L. Forrest (Michele), Michael A Pendelton (Sharon), Mark A & Henry A Pendelton; (4) daughters, Shirley A. Pendelton, Andrea Martin (Bryon), Shannon Mack-Pendelton & Portia Pendelton; (4) siblings, Patricia A. Tatum (Columbia, Missouri), Marie Freeman (Kansas City, Kansas), Phillip E. Graves (Saint Louis) & John E. Graves Jr. (Kathy) of Saint Louis, Missouri; (24) grandchildren; (18) great-grandchildren; 1st wife, Ella Mitchell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rest in peace, dear Henry.
You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
