Obituary

Jeffrey Calvin Smith was born on March 30, 1966, in Akron, Ohio, to Lula Bell Smith and Jerome Stanley, both of whom preceded him in death.

Jeffrey received his education in the St. Louis Public School System, where he spent much of his life building lasting relationships and memories. On June 9, 1994, Jeffrey met the love of his life, Felicia M. Brown. Their bond grew strong over the years, and they were united in marriage, sharing 32 years of love, partnership, and devotion.

On June 9, 2025, Jeffrey accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at Murchison Tabernacle C.M.E. Church, under the leadership of Reverend Renee T. Johnson, marking a meaningful spiritual milestone in his life.

Jeffrey was a hardworking and dedicated man. For many years, he worked as a cook at C8K Barbeque, where he was known for his skills and passion for food. Beyond his professional life, Jeffrey had a servant's heart. He lovingly provided an in-home daycare for his nieces and nephews, demonstrating his deep commitment to family.

Jeffrey found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid football fan and proudly supported the Denver Broncos. He and his beloved wife shared many special moments together. including cooking meals, playing video games, watching television, taking drives, and gardening to beautify their front yard. Family meant everything to Jeffrey, and he cherished vacations spent visiting his relatives in Akron, Ohio, and traveling with his wife to Fort Smith, Arkansas, to spend time with her family.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his devoted wife, Felicia Smith; his stepfather, Will Bogan; his godsons, Jamari White and Dunya Barnes; his brothers, Will Bogan, Jimmy Smith, Gary Bogan, and Nathaniel Bogan; his brother-in-law, Joe Brown, all of St. Louis, Missouri; his sisters, Sheryon Bogan and Reda Spraggins; sister in-law China Coleman, and a host of beloved aunts, including Doris Campbell (Jerry) of Akron, Ohio, Frida Johnson of Memphis, Tennessee, Rev. Ann Grover of Michigan, Minnie Allen, and Olmae, all of St. Louis, Missouri. One uncle, Sylvester Colman of Waterloo, lowa. He also leaves behind a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Jeffrey will be remembered for his love of family, his kind spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him. His legacy of love and care will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
