Lawrence Burden Beasley was born on May 25, 1944 in Saint Louis, Missouri to the parents of Frederick L. Beasley, Sr. and Ceacer Bessie Hammons Beasley. He was the second oldest of five. His father, mother, brother and sister preceded him in death. At times, he was affectionately known as Baby Boy, Larry, Kuki (Cookie) and Papa. He was educated in the Saint Louis Public School system and graduated from Vashon High School formerly known as Hadley Tech. While enrolled at Vashon, he took a fascination with tinkering with cars and trucks. He was an inquisitive child, wondering off for long periods of time exploring. He also loved to cook. In January of 1965, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and was trained as a communication expert. After basic training, his unit was the first to land in Vietnam and proudly served his country for four years. No matter who he met or where he went, he was proud to be a Marine. After being honorably discharged, he took an interest with driving trucks over the road for Lee Way Trucking and Saint Louis Postal Service companies. He met and married Cheryl (Foster) Beasley and later divorced. From that union, Brian Beasley was born. A few years later, he met Toby Schuman and a daughter, Tania Beasley was born. Throughout his life's journey, he has been a beloved son, brother and father. Everyone he met said he was funny, always greeted you with a smile and well versed on everything. He leaves to mourn him, two sisters, Barbara Beasley Harris and LaJuanda Beasley; his son Brian Beasley (Chan); his daughter, Tania Beasley Jolly(William); two grand sons, Brian Beasley II and Miles Jolly; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
