Obituary

Evangelist Lillian Quinn (AKA) Aunt Dede was born On December 3, 1938 in Saint Louis, Missouri at Old Saint Mary Hospital.

Aunt Lillian attended Saint Louis Public Schools. After high school, she went into the work force until she married on April 22, 1966 to L.C. Quinn. She started working for the Saint Louis Public Schools in the Dietitian Building. According to aunt Lillian, they made 50,000 lunches each day. She had to get up at 4am in the morning to get to work.

Uncle L.C. died in 1978; this was a difficult time for aunt Lillian financially. She had to start working a second job cleaning offices in the evenings after working during the day. She ended up selling their family home and moving into “The Mavera Place Apartments.”

In her mid-forties, aunt Lillian went to seminary college she became an ordained minister. This decision opened a door for her to go to Israel.

Aunt Lillian's new found vocation lead her to preach at churches around the Saint Louis area, until God lead her to her new church home at Jesus Christ Temple of Deliverance, here in Saint Louis. Shepherd by Pastor Marvin Davis and First Lady Lita Davis, they became aunt Lillian's spiritual parents. She was tremendously devoted and loyal at her new place of worship and her to spiritual family; she preached on Sunday services, and attended weekly Bible and Prayer services on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Also she was a faithful Prayer Warrior on her 12pm Weekend Prayer Line.

Aunt Lillian was a faithful servant at Jesus Christ of Deliverance, she believed in tithing, and serving at any opportunity that was open to her. One of a most grateful moments was when she was blessed to participate financially toward the new church building. She remained a faithful servant at Jesus Christ Temple of Deliverance until her illness.

When aunt Lillian retired from the Saint Louis Public Schools Dietitian Department in 1999, she began to minister for the Lord and serve at her church full time, until she was diagnosed with Dementia. This disease attempted to take away her independence, slowly; however, in-spite of it, aunt Lillian continued to serve the Lord. She remained on her weekly prayer line, going to Tuesday and Thursday Bible and Prayer services.

Anyone who had the opportunity to know her or just be in her presence knew she loved the Lord with all her heart. She wasn't shy in expressing her love for God or her family at any given time.

Her famous saying was “We Are Family.”

This diagnosis began a series of new adjustments for our family, along with the struggles of getting aunt Lillian to understand she needed to relinquish some of her independence. One of them were convincing her she could no longer drive. In December of 2020, as the disease progressed, she ended up catching the coronavirus, which lead to aunt Lillian being hospitalized, and then transfered to NHC in January of 2021. She resided there until November 11, 2025 at 10:05 p.m., when she received her Wings to be with the Lord.

Aunt Lillian touched many people's hearts while living at NHC with her love for the Lord, and by praying for patients, staff and family members of the residences. She also loved singing during activity time and church services at NHC. She will truly be missed by many hearts she touched, at NHC and through out her life.

Aunt Lillian was preceded in death by her first cousin/phone buddy, Delosis Newman; her niece Elisa; her two nephews, Darnell and Larry; her three siblings, Carol (her only sister), and brothers Willie and Raymond; her parents Catherine and Jack Davis and her Beloved husband L.C. of twelve years.

Aunt Lillian leaves to carry on her legacy and remembrance of the life she lived for the Lord by her two nieces, Marian and Katherine; her nephew Gregory; her three great nephews, Marquis, MarTez (Big Boy), Corey (Corey Man); 3 great nieces Jessica-Carol (Her JJ), Kayla, and Trayvia; 3 great-great nephews Nassir, Ezra, and Eden; 2 great-great nieces Peyton and Zora; and a host of Family and Friends
