Mary Elizabeth Jones, more intimately known as Candy, was received into this world on February 19, 1975, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the eldest child born to Marian Starr Jones-Dobbins.
Those who knew her understood she was a force to be reckoned with—extreme in every way. A jack of all trades, Candy mastered everything from cars to carpentry and beyond. Her personality defied labels, constantly evolving. She carried an aura that went beyond the ordinary.
Throughout her life, she faced many challenges—some that no one should ever have to endure. Yet, her unyielding will and relentless drive helped her rise above them all. When things got rough, Candy got tougher.
Her purpose in life was clear: to be the rock for those around her—the one others could hold on to when they felt like they were drowning or lost. Of all the things that could be said, it was her diligence, persistence, and downright boldness that defined who she was.
On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Candy was called home to be in His better graces and presence. She was preceded in passing by her brother, Joseph Jones.
Candy leaves behind a legacy of triumph and cherished memories. She is survived by her life partner, Andre Wright; her two sons, Ronnell Jones and Donnell Jones; five brothers, Curtis Bridges, William Bridges, Michael Rushing, Maurice Rushing, and Wendell Jones; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
