Murry Hill Shipp III was born July 2, 1985, in St. Louis, Missouri, to his parents Hilda Norwood and Murry Hill Shipp II. Murry was the second of three children. His mother, father, and stepfather (James Norwood) preceded him in death.

Murry was a devoted son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

Murry (affectionately known as Micky Bob) accepted Christ in his life at an early age, he grew up in Union Memorial United Methodist church. Murry firmly believed in the Lord and carried that faith with him throughout his life.

He attended Normandy Senior High School and went on to receive his degree in culinary arts from L'Ecole Culinaire. Micky worked in the culinary industry for over 20 years. He recently celebrated 10 years of service with Horseshoe Casino. Murry loved to cook and share his talents with the family. Murry spent a considerable amount of time cooking for his grandfather and mother during their time of recovery.

Murry was a kind and gentle soul who had a big heart. He loved his family and he had a wicked sense of humor. Murry gave everyone in the family their own special nick name. He would always chime in the family text chain with something funny and he would always say he loved us. Micky loved himself some wrestling. From a young age he would watch wrestling with his mom, great aunt Sarah, and his cousins, Chris, Jared and CJ. He could tell you everything about the wrestlers from their names to how long they wrestled, and who wrestled on what network. He attended wrestling matches when they came to town, let's just say Micky was a wrestling aficionado. Not only did he have a passion for wrestling, but he also loved his electronics. Micky had more than the law allows, and he was the family tech person. If you had a question about how anything technological worked Micky could answer it and fix whatever problem, you had. Micky was a man about town, while he didn't drive, he could get anywhere on public transportation. He could tell you which bus or metro train you should take from one destination to the next. When out and about he would say, "I'm handling Micky business", we didn't know quite what that was, but he did it. We think that was his way of saying, mind your business ©

Murry, your larger-than-life presence and quiet strength will not be forgotten, but we know that you are resting in heavenly peace with your parents and great parents. We will miss you Micky, we will hold your calming spirit and laughter in our hearts and memories forever.

We are grateful to the Lord for blessing us with you. We will cherish the memories and time we were allowed to spend with you.

On Saturday, July 18, 2026, Murry was called home to be with our Lord and Savior.

Micky leaves to cherish his memory: Seven Siblings ~ Kevin Henderson, Jessica Shipp, and O'marion Norwood, Elder James Norwood Jr. (Tiffani), Lynn Norwood (Patrick), Marques Norwood; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
