NATHANIEL WATSON SR was born on May 26, 1936, in LaGrange, Arkansas to Jessie Watson Sr. and Elnora Munn. Preceded in death by his father, mother, (4) brothers and (4) sisters. Brothers (James T. Watson, Eddie Watson Sr., Elizah Watson Sr., Jessie Watson Jr.). Sisters (Addie Mae Rhoden, Bertha Mae Wheeler, Labertie Burnette and Betty Sue Dorsey).
Nathaniel Watson Sr. enjoyed serving on the Shaw Neighborhood Watch Committee and Tinkering around his yard and home. He loved to watch CNN, CSPAN, Baseball, Wrestling and Old Western Stories. He loved to argue (cuss) with the television, it did not “talk back”! He was an “extremely diligent worker,” as he believed in “taking care of his family.” After his retirement, he began to cut grass for friends and neighbors (as he loved being outside).
Nathaniel Watson Sr. leaves to celebrate his life and cherish memories. Devoted wife of 67 years (Nita Ludell (Edmond) Watson. (3) sons, Nathaniel Watson Jr. (Michelle) Shiloh, Illinois, Victor Lee Watson (Bernadette) Bellefontaine, Missouri, Rickey Lee Watson (Angela) Shiloh, Illinois. (3) daughters, Brenda Faye (Watson) Saunders (Gregory) Smyrna, Tennessee, Patricia Ann Watson, Naperville, Illinois, Darlene Watson, Little Rock, Arkansas. He was Grandfather (Pawpaw) to: Patrick, Marcel Sr. (Kelly), Victoria, Ariyuana, Briana, Natasha, Jordan, Ashley, and Brittney (Rayomel). Great Grandfather of Marcel Jr., Malachi, James III, Jayden, Alexander, Nikolai, Lauren, and Zoey.
Affectionately known as “Uncle Red” he leaves to cherish his memories a host of devoted nieces (especially Sally Williams, Juanita McClinton), nephews (especially Robert Jackson), cousins and other loving family members and friends. He was the Patriarch and last of the children of his father and mother.
