Wilma Mabins, was born in Luxora Arkansas. The last child of the late Walter B. Mabins and Jessie (Big Momma) Gatlin Mabins. She attended the family church, Gospel Temple, Luxora Ark. There she was reared and baptized at a young age.Graduated in 1958 at Rosenwald High School in Osceola Arkansas. Leaving at the age of 17 she left for East St. Louis Ill working with her sister, Pearlena, to provide a life for herself. Eventually moving to Saint Louis, Missouri. Wilma had nicknames, her two favorite were Fuzz and Aunt Wilma, mainly known as Aunt Wilma. She had a sympathetic ear.

If you needed a laugh, to talk to share your thoughts, to eat, a place of refuge, you could come to aunt Wilma. She had a caring heart for the family, the cousins, the nieces, nephews, her children, and her sibling. In spite of the situation she would have you to laugh and thinking in the end. Wilma joined Kossouth Church of God In Christ, under the leadership of Bishop Robert D. Strong until her untimely death. To cherish her life she leaves behind her children.
